I'm just some nerd who came across the fix and decided to put something up so more people could see it. go click that link and tell him so, I'm not the guy who came up with this. If something does happen, though, you can probably just remove the lines to reverse the changes. The moment I go over 144, the tearing gets insane :\Īside from the fact that it's kind of crazy seeing Spore run like this, I haven't noted any strange issues or bugs cropping up as a result. I haven't tried any higher, for the sake of making sure my FreeSync monitor can clear up tearing. If You have purchased the SPORE Game from any retailer other Steam, this version of SPORE Galactic Adventures will not work properly. It works off frametimes and doesn't take decimals, so finding the right number is a bit weird. Make sure to replace the xx in the "frameLimitMS" to the corresponding number of the framerate you want. Use the following step-by-step instruction for this. We'll get back to that.ĭo the same for Galactic Adventures, you'll find these same files under spore -> DataEp1 -> Config. It is to eliminate the error without reinstalling and unnecessary problems. There is a risk of being banned by STEAM for selling and/or purchasing STEAM GIFTS. IntProp frameLimitMS xx The xx will be a different number based on what you want. The Store is not responsible for any issues regarding STEAM GIFTS. Under Properties.txt, add one more line to the very bottom of the file: Open it up with Notepad, or if you're a cool kid, use the free program Notepad++. You'll see two things: Properties and ConfigManager, both txt files. The fastest way to get to this folder is to right-click the game from Steam and go under Properties > Local Files > Browse Local Files.įirst, check the folder for config files: spore -> Data -> Config. Go into the install folder, it'll be steamapps\common\spore most of the time (yes, lowercase). If you haven't launched the game before, it won't create the text files you need, as in they won't even be in the folder at all. Go ahead and change resolutions back to what it should be, if the game decided to launch in a low res like it did for me. The first step is to launch this game normally, as well as Galactic Adventures if you have it. No downloads required, all you need to get this game running at 60 or better is a simple tweak.Įmd4600 came up with the tweak on a forum, all credits go to this cool guy: Im trying to play the game with both GA and CC but when I open one of them, the other doesnt show in the game (i.e when I open GA there is no option to use CC parts and vice versa) Is this a thing for anyone else, or can I fix it I have GA, CC, and core Spore all downloaded, so Im not sure whats going on. but I want to feel like this 144Hz monitor wasn't a complete waste of money. I'd prefer something higher now that I'm not a little kid but instead an entitled and spoiled brat, but if I had to, I'd be fine with 30. Not many seem to be aware of this, even those of us who actually played the game long ago: Spore has a 30 FPS cap.
